ok guys new around here, ive got an 04 automatic with 17k miles on it. the last 2 days i have had a whining noise above 2200rpm, today it has gotten worse. now it whines anything above 1400rpm and when i push the car it screams, ive had a buddy whos a tech for gm take a quick look he said it sounds like its coming from under the car and that no noise is coming from the engine. he said it could possibly be the trans but he only had 5 min to look. i can put it in park and rev it and it will also whine... HELP im lost and worried its something bad.


ohh and also if i shut it off and restart the noise is gone for a little bit (the harder i drive it the faster it comes back) quickest it has come back is about 30seconds longest is about 5 min. and there are no codes set
