Just an offhand thought, but the reason for the whale tail (and extra downforce) on the SRT-6 might be to pre-compress those stiffer springs so the car handles better at speed. I dunno...

It would be really nice if DC allowed a "Mystery Engineer" to post to this site and answer these burning questions though.
