Well here's one for you,
My dad, a truck diver, was in Texas on a delivery. Flat open country. He pulled out from a stop sign with plenty of time to clear the intersection with his flatbed for the oncoming headlights. Little did he know a drag race was underway down the highway. Two teens decapitated that night as they drove under his trailer. Just shows no matter how "safe" you think the area is.. it's not always the case.
