He has bought his way out every time, by writing checks big enough for the lawyer to "do his job for me".
He has spent, to the best of my knowledge, less than 20 days total in jail. Now, my data ends in 2003 as no one has heard from him since then. I do not know if he still drives, I only know that he has bill collectors after him because they contact me about twice a year looking for him. Oddly, I get more information out of a few of them, than they do me. It is because of them that I know he lives in Kalamazoo these days. But that is all I know. He has a Masters Degree and cleans pools and does odd jobs for a living.
Odd how you can buy your way out of trouble these days.

PG, please be aware that I was NOT being sarcastic or facetious in these suggestions.
For DWI, I have very little (no) tolerance.
As to my 30 (39) over, I did it in as safe a manner as I could. No traffic in my direction of travel
at all. That is why the trooper didn't cite me for reckless.
I'll admit it was ill-advised, but no more. I broke the law, got caught, and paid less than others because I'm fortunate enough to have a neighbor who, as a
prosecutor, could have said tough titty. He knows that I drive slower, and safer than 95% of the others around here. He knows I screwed the pooch, but elected to do this for me. I DID NOT ASK. He offered.
