Hey guys, I just got my new Bosch/Mahle Fuel filter. I've never changed one on these cars, so hopefully everything goes well without any problems. I know there are some Posts on changing these out so I will be doing some research. Once completed I will update how this went. I might document this by taking pics. Thanks for the support.
I had asked early last year about the weird clamps used on the filter and got no response.
I figured out by destroying one that they CAN be removed and reused.
You use a pair of needlenose pliers, or a small screwdriver to release the 2 hook portions on each clamp.
You can do like most and just cut them off and put the new filter in with small screw clamps ...
MAKE SURE YOU RELEASE THE PRESSURE FIRST BY REMOVING FUSE 5 FROM THE RELAY CONTROL MODULE AND RUNNING THE ENGINE UNTIL IT STOPS.
