Well, there ya go! But, um... why the spacers?


On an unrelated note - I had observed a Tach reading of 3050 to 3100 rpm at 80 MPH.
With these new tires, I was headed home from the Airport last night and set the cruise at 80 - suddenly I realized: the Tach read 2800.

I had noticed that, before the tire change, setting the cruise at 80 gave me an indication of 77 or 78 (don't remember exactly) on the GPS. NOW setting the cruise at 80 causes the GPS to read 80 or 81!

I changed my overall gear ratio by going to the bigger tires! But what this tells me is that the speedometer is driven off the sensors in the FRONT wheels - I mean it MUST be, right?

Anyway, I am up near 1500 miles on this second set of Hankooks and I like them. Not the right tire for everyone, but I'm pleased.
