The Crank Position Sensor is a KNOWN FAILURE ITEM. I carry a spare one, never used in (car has 77,000 on it) but it's there for me if I need it. In fact, it's there for anyone who needs it, should someone have an issue at a GTG.

I'd get a CPS, if it does not fix it, you have a spare for when it DOES happen. Get a BOSCH, either from Autohuas in Arizona or German Auto Supply. Part number was 003 153 27 28 but now they ship a 0 261 210 170 (002).
