I"m not upset with YOU lane, I just think we need a "common questions" thread, forum or SOMETHING. SOME questions LITERALLY come up every day around here and then it's us regulars who have to go search the forum for the newbies who won't do it themselves.

Your mechanic has an opinion, like I said, we all do. The vast majority of us here use Mobile 1 0W40. But many here like "that purple crap" - which is also NOT APPROVED by MB. But if your car is out of warranty, do you really care what is approved by MB?

Again, search the forum and look around, you will find a LOT of opinions. Or, just go to the list I gave you - but again, no matter what your mechanic says, AMSOIL is not on the current list. Your mechanic's suggestion that it is, is not supported by MB themselves.
