My last Mann filter literally slipped off the holder when I took it out, previously all the other ones had been still tight. It had only been on there for less than 2,000 miles.

As you said the inside diameter is just a tight fit on the shaft, so it expanded quite a bit. There was a Chinese filter in the car when I got it and it was loose.

I'll look at the Mobil filter, I think i have seen them locally, trouble is in Canada you get ripped off on the prices, we (Sparkie) got the Mann filters from the US and split a ten pack. My local auto supply shop wanted $40 (down from $50 when I questioned the price) for a Wix filter, I laughed at him and said I could get three from the US for $40, shipping included.
I'm not cheap but I hate getting ripped off.
