Must be a wire in the circuit, have a look at the wiring diagram in the Repair Manual.

This is what it says on the description of the switch.
"The door ajar switches are actuated by either the door closing against the jamb, or the liftgate latch mechanism
striker plate. When a door or the liftgate is closed and properly latched, its ajar switch is an open circuit. When a
door or the liftgate is only partially latched, its ajar switch is a closed circuit. The ajar switches are connected via a
harness connector to a body ground and the central locking pump/security system module."
