Re: United Crossfire Owners Can Rock Chrysler.......
OK guys...my turn. I have finally had enough. This thing popped out of gear today and damn near caused an accident (AGAIN). I have had it in the shop 7 times for the transmission and the dealer acknowledges that the tranny binds, but feels that it "is within established industry standards". I just want a car that doesn't break down...I would love another convertible, and there is one SRT-6 available, but the dealership wants to give me a 20k beating for trading in a 3 month old car...So, if you would like to contact Chrysler on my behalf, the last 8 of my VIN is
5X047077 and my Chrysler REFERENCE NUMBER: 14564016
Long of the short is the following faults with the car:
1) Burning oil smell: went away at 1500 miles. Dealer thinks that it MAY have been cosmoline on the muffler...
2) Excessive noise while braking: Dealer replaced rotors and pads on the front.
3) Excessive vibration from the front: Dealer replaced the front tires. Vibration is still present. Dealer acknowledged that the rear wheels are "out of round" but refuses to replace them.
4) Noise in passenger door: Acknowledged by the dealer, but unable to locate.
5) Vehicle pops out of 1st gear while clutch is engaging: dealer unable to replicate. Acknowledged that 1st gear binds but feel that it is within factory norms.
6) Battery replaced at 110 miles...they don't know why...it was just dead.
Thanks for anyone that wants to help....even if it ain't a REAL MAN's crossfire...
BTW: Resolution that I want is trade assistance to get out of this one and into a SRT-6 (only other crossfires available). The Dealer says I gotta take a 20K whooping.
thanks again!
