something we did on grips car to get more room without trimming the y pipe is to switch the t/b rubber plate on the xfire to the flat gasket that the slk32 has. gives you the thickness of the plate closer to the s/c and away from the firewall
That's what I though too, but squeezing the tabs pushes them into the opening and when released, they spring back away from the tube. I don't know, maybe I'm just old and slow.
Since mine is a 32, I guess I already have the slimmer gasket. By canting the angle of the "Y" a little off of horizontal and trimming the "Y" I think I've got it where it will clear. I just can't get the stupid tube to snap in and stay.
