Brake booster vac line...killin' me.
Alrighty....
I guess my car is one of those that nothing AM wants to fit.
While trying to install the DCAI I broke the brake booster vacuum line nozzle that inserts into the supercharger. The circular cap that goes over the SC port was broken too.
So I got both parts in today, but can't for the life of me find a way that the vacuum tube locks into the supercharger. Without the cap installed, the white nozzle does not go all the way in, leaving about 1/4" exposed. And whether I put the cap on first or try to install it with the tube, it never locks. So the tube can be easily pulled out.
This is an issue because the CAI on that side presses reward on that tube, causing it to come out of the port. I'm checking with Rob about the clearance issue. But shouldn't that tube lock in place somehow?

It should lock into place. it will rub the intake tube on that side...you have to adjust the elbow into the Y-pipe, but it will still touch...it shouldn't be pinched, but touching...
I had to trim the silicone Y for the DCAI on my car but that won't help you now, or will it? I put the hose clamp on the outside and used it to guide a razon blade and took off 1/4" more or less, on the throttle body end so it would clear the booster hose. Well, it still touches but it solved my problem. It seems there's slight variations from car to car.

S/C end. I've checked and there are no remnants of the old tube stuck in the S/C. It just won't "snap" into place.

Does it still have the red part?
Push in on the brake tube while pulling outward on the red collar.ditch the cover. Clean it well so it can grip grip.
It's just like a pneumatic push lock fitting.

I think Anthony just changed out his s/c... I have never had that part off, so I really can't advise you on it. Is there an edge on the part, or is it supposed to be pressed in? I would think there would be a lip that would lock once pushed in far enough...but I just don't know... Maybe Anthony will charm in...
you squeeze the tabs and slide the tube in until it locks in place.
something we did on grips car to get more room without trimming the y pipe is to switch the t/b rubber plate on the xfire to the flat gasket that the slk32 has. gives you the thickness of the plate closer to the s/c and away from the firewall

Since mine is a 32, I guess I already have the slimmer gasket. By canting the angle of the "Y" a little off of horizontal and trimming the "Y" I think I've got it where it will clear. I just can't get the stupid tube to snap in and stay.
I just replaced the cap that has the two tabs on it. I couldn't see a way to get the entire port fitting out, plus I don't recall seeing a part number for that piece. It's MB Part 1111410081
im just guessing as i dont have the car to look at but im thinking the inside part were the cap goes may be damaged thus allowing the line to slip back out. or the end of the line itself is damaged
I was looking at my tube last week, has anyone tried to reshape this with heat. The material looks like it would lend its self to this. Sand inside and maybe a spring around it, along with some judicious heat.

I had thought about that too. I've got a heat gun and I'm going to try it tomorrow on my old tube to see how it fairs. Only thing I'm worried about is putting anything into the tube that might end up in the valve/fitting at the brake booster end.
