I was looking at my tube last week, has anyone tried to reshape this with heat. The material looks like it would lend its self to this. Sand inside and maybe a spring around it, along with some judicious heat.

I had thought about that too. I've got a heat gun and I'm going to try it tomorrow on my old tube to see how it fairs. Only thing I'm worried about is putting anything into the tube that might end up in the valve/fitting at the brake booster end.
