I assume that those are the threads you mean. If it's the drain itself it must be faulty.

I actually read this originally but doubted the need for tape because of the number of threads. Didn't really consider the pressurization could force oil past the threads.


PS I was quite happy to find the leak at the catch can as the oil was dripping from the black cast steering box so I was fearing the worst.
