Re: The Final Word Cold Air Intake. Does It help produce power ???
On my 1996 Viper GTS, there were two corrugated hoses running from the air box just behind the NASA style hood scoop into both intakes, one on each bank of cylinders. The V10 was rated at 450 HP.
Later that year Dodge came out with the White Viper GTSR version that had a tall rear spoiler, different wheels, a few other race ready changes with the same motor. Only this one was rated at 460 HP.
The only difference was swapping the corrugated (according style) intake hoses for a smooth style hose. Instant 10 hp gain.
I realize that most of the restriction the NA cars experience is from its factory Air Cleaner Housing. But would replacing our corrugated plastic tube with smooth ones help?
