Default Re: The Final Word Cold Air Intake. Does It help produce power ???

Just an ole cynical guy here that says that video does nothing either way for XF owners, let along the N/A vs SC versions of the M112. The config of that car in the vid is no-where near ours. How does our N/A breathe, its sucked into the motor. Their vid has a forced intake, isn't it? Ours is a 3.2L, sorry, forgot what theirs was. Everything from the intake 'snout' to the route the air follows up to and including the exhaust tips figure into the results. So, what does that say about an XF's N/A or SC CAI? Generally speaking, a lot of guesswork. Specifically, you have to take one of each fully stock, then add a single CAI (to both models) and finally a DCAI (again to both models). When those documented third party (observed) results are posted, the rest of the story will be known (taking some words from the venerable Paul Harvey). Only then will 99% of the guesswork (and BS) be removed from most doubt. Since its been almost 10 years since the first car hit the streets, I'm going to stick my head out a little and say I doubt this will happen (both a stock N/A and SC XF getting together with a couple of aftermarket and home built CAI and DCAI's for a session or two of comparable conditions dyno runs.

I still wouldn't mind having a home-made single CAI but stock is fine for this guy for now...
