Thanks I will try that tomorrow. i disconnected the battery for 2 hrs but check lite came back on

To do a throttle reset:

Get in the car.
Turn the key to "ON" but don't start the car, press pedal to the floor and hold it there for over 5 seconds.
Keeping the pedal to the floor, turn the key off. Now, you can release the pedal.
Sit there for at least two minutes without starting the car or turning the key on.

That should do it.
