These cars need some "learning time" after intake part replacement. And it can, unfortunately, be a couple of days.

Just wondering.. would the car be more open to "learning" if the battery was disconnected for a while? Then it doesn't have to unlearn it's bad habits...

TO help it learn, try a throttle reset, easy to do and no cost. Woody

Fine. Do that. Just make sure it's a Mercedes Dealer because only rarely will you encounter anyone at a Chrysler dealership that knows ANYTHING about these cars.

To do a throttle reset:

Get in the car.
Turn the key to "ON" but don't start the car, press pedal to the floor and hold it there for over 5 seconds.
Keeping the pedal to the floor, turn the key off. Now, you can release the pedal.
Sit there for at least two minutes without starting the car or turning the key on.

That should do it.

Ribit..Rivit.. figure by your avatar he's speaking your language!

You basically don't need to worry about a throttle reset now.. disconnecting the battery took care of it for you.
CEL is on.. OBDII scanner? get the code and lets see what it's reading now..

And just doing a google search on the P0175 code you get these results... might be worth looking over on the car..

Possible solutions include:
  • Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
  • Clean the MAF sensor. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
  • Inspect fuel lines for cracks, leaks, or pinches
  • Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail
  • Check the fuel injectors, they may be dirty. Use fuel injector cleaner or get them professionally cleaned/replaced.
  • Check for an exhaust leak before the first oxygen sensor (this is unlikely to cause the problem, but it is possible)
I've had VERY good results with the Chevron Injector Cleaner... about 8 bucks a shot but works great!

OBDII would be nice, but...
Any guy trying to work on his own car should at least have an ULTRAGAUGE

Salesmen.. whatta ya gonna say.. LOL.

OBDII will get you in the ball park..

Based on the google search.. and the "bogs"... I'm thinking fuel rail pressure check would be in order if you haven't had it done yet..

Odd, you should make a "salesman" remark... you'd never guess where I have been these past weeks.
Anyway, hold the fort down, I'm going to be kinda scarce around here for some time to come.

OBD II Code P0103

Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input

OBD II Fault Code
  • OBD II P0103
Fault Code Definition
The Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) measures the amount of air entering the engine and the Engine Control Module (ECM) uses the information to determine the proper amount of fuel quantity and ignition timing. The P0103 trouble code is set when the Powertrain Control Module detects a high voltage output from the MAF Sensor.
Symptoms
  • Check Engine Light will illuminate
  • In many cases, no abnormal symptoms may be noticed
  • In some cases, the vehicle may get poor fuel mileage
Common Problems That Trigger the P0103 Code
  • The MAF Sensor is unplugged or the wiring is damaged
  • Loose or corroded electrical terminals in the MAF Sensor circuit
  • Faulty MAF Sensor
Common Misdiagnoses
  • MAF Sensor Replaced when the wiring is bad
  • Connector for the Mass Air Meter is defective
