Default Re: More Volume

I installed the Kappa 62.9is probably six months ago. Inside the plastic speaker bracket, there are a couple of "bumps" (for lack of a better word) that I had to file off in order for the speaker to set flush. Other than that, they are basically plug 'n play. I have an SRT-6, which means it has the Infinity system. I do have capacitors installed onto the speakers--can't remember which ones. I removed them for a moment when I installed the new speakers, but ended up putting the back because I preferred the sound.

You are going to get less bass out of the front speakers with this set-up, but I was looking for crisp highs and substantial mids, which is what I got. The stock subs put out plenty of bump, for now.

My purpose in creating this thread was to explore options in keeping the factory headunit for aesthetic purposes. I am well aware this isn't ideal, but I can't stand the aftermarket look. From replacing the front speakers, I am not opposed to replacing the subwoofers as well, and upgrading the amp. This was the idea behind creating this thread--better sound with the stock headunit.
