Like I say, otherwise your wanting them to fix a potential failure based on "it makes a noise".. no component has actually "failed" as of yet.
I'd bet on a wreck or sale before a repair if I was the warranty provider..LOL.
A component has failed or it would not make a noise.

If a bearing has failed and the gears are out of alignment as a result the gears will get a bad mesh pattern on them if driven too far and a new bearing would only quieten the noise.The insurance company would probably only pay for a new bearing and not the damaged parts caused by the failure based on previous posts.
