It should have worked straight out of the box
with no programing required.
The CEL may not go off for a while as it has to do 'x' number of readings before it resets the light. The code will be stored in the black box for future reference until it is cleared.

Nothing against the Chinese, but a lot of their stuff is crap, and once it is imported there is no returning it to them. So the importer tries to sell it anyway.
