The downforce provided by most canards wouldn't be strong enough to disfigure the fascia unless he's going 150+mph

The fascia plastic is pretty thick, and as long as all mounting points are securely fastened, there shouldn't be too much flex. To remain aesthetically pleasing, they will likely be narrower than 2". It won't be generating F-1 levels of downforce.

Having said that, 3M tape isn't going to cut it. You'll need a proper way to attach them to the bumper (rivets or integrated threaded studs that pass through)

Unless there are other splitters/diffusers on the car, I think it would look out of place. He did mention it for road racers, so they should have that area covered.
