That is why powdercoating is more expensive but way more durable especially for the under the hood temps. Your car, your choice obviously but everybody stopped painting (themselves or manufacturing) engine parts in gloss in the last millennium. There is no gloss finish at all in our cars' engine bays. Stock manifolds have a wrinkle grey finish which is pretty nice, I was thinking about spending a few days and sanding them down to a nice polished aluminum look. Flat powdercoat creates a factory like finish look and gloss.. Exactly what it is.. a rattle can look.
