Decided to go red. V/C & manifolds.
( I kinda like it too - well done job, although I too am a fan of wrinkle paint on engines )
That looks just horrible and cheap, reminds me of old school cars spraying the whole engine with high gloss engine enamel instead of restoring it to original condition the right way. Word of advice, strip that paint and powdercoat with flat or Ferrari wrinkle red like below. I'd also sand down/polish the SRT 6 letters afterwards.

I can powder too. I could have done any color/texture/flatness I wanted.
I happen to like the gloss.
The flat does look nice just not what I wanted.
I did consider doing the valve covers wrinkle black like the old hemis. I felt they would have just gotten lost in the engine bay since they sit so low.

It's a matter of personal preference. Beware of doing it "like Ferrari". It makes people think you are trying to look like a Ferrari, same as putting Rolls Royce-style grilles on a Cadillac.
The important thing is we are all aware of a new resource (thanks, stryfox) that can help us realize our design dreams at a reasonable cost.

Thank you
Actually, quality paint and powder are not that much difference in price.
The up side is you can paint it yourself will little equipment. Powder requires things the average guy won't have in his garage.
It's all about the prep work.
Glad to be able to help.

That is why powdercoating is more expensive but way more durable especially for the under the hood temps. Your car, your choice obviously but everybody stopped painting (themselves or manufacturing) engine parts in gloss in the last millennium. There is no gloss finish at all in our cars' engine bays. Stock manifolds have a wrinkle grey finish which is pretty nice, I was thinking about spending a few days and sanding them down to a nice polished aluminum look. Flat powdercoat creates a factory like finish look and gloss.. Exactly what it is.. a rattle can look.
I have always found that wrinkle finishes are hard to keep clean as the dirt and grease gets down into the wrinkles and is hard to get out, the lighter the color the worse it is.

I do what I like.
Can't wait to see yours.
If it takes you a couple days to sand yours down it may be time to buy some tools.

No gloss finish under the hood? Look again.
Manifolds have a wrinkle grey finish? Mine are as cast - no grey finish.
You can say horrible, cheap and rattle can finish, but I know your blunt comments are going to rattle people.

I have to agree that spray paint does not a custom make but whats the deal with dropping the Ferrari name? Is ferrari wrinkle paint better or faster than any other companies wrinkle paint?
Narrow minded people are what make amatures affraid to try anything different or by themselves. Besides it gives the next owner something to restore...

"Ferrari wrinkle paint is what you must use. Anything else is a crime and you may be put in jail if not followed and/or job done properly." It says in the OM for the SRT6 coupe.
Yea. they might extradite you to a SWEDISH slammer ( if they have such things, I don't believe there is any crime in Sweden, they outlawed it )
I have been building nation winning classic mopars for over 15 years.
I know what I'm doing.
The crossfire stuff is for fun.
Ferrari was only mentioned since most people have seen it in person or at least online. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but there is no way in hell that a glossy rattle can finish can match the look of a flat powdercoating like below (just referencing the color/look so nothing to do with Honda). It looks like a factory finish especially with the sanded lettering.
