The odometer display goes blank for a few seconds and the wrench symbol and "8" appear and then it goes back to the odometer.
That is the sign for a service. You can get it back to 7,000 if you follow the instructions. If you drive it the 8 may change to a 7 or a 9 or something like that. That's the miles before or after you are due for a service.
Edit, that 8 is actually a B.
