Woody, please note that I said your picture did not show the problem. The picture is too small and dark anyway.
RMADERMANs picture shows the inner ends lined up and you can see the error in mismatch.
I know that the snout as you call it is too long but your picture only shows that the overall length is longer. The overall length could be longer but the distance from the rear of the pulley to the ribs has to be correct.
