I've had both the Coupe & Roadster and I found the hood to be as water tight as the Coupe. Very little wind noise and no leaks from window seal's.
I used Auti Glym Cabriolet Fabric Hood Cleaner once when I aquired the xfire, and since then just regular washing with standard car shampoo is all I've ever done, to date no problems.
Good luck with the purchase...Its a buyers market..haggle hard...and take you're time.

Thanks Ken, Having never owned a rag top before I was a little concerned about the unknown, the closest thing i've had in the past was an MR2 T Bar years ago which had a habit og dribbling through the lid seals sometimes
