Me: I just made some modifications to my car and I used bad judgment in attempting to see how they were working out on the street. I am not a speeder and I have never had the car that fast before.
Judge: anything else?
Me: yes your honor. My wife is disabled with MS and loosing my license would cause a hardship on the family. I have two young children I must get to school and back everyday and I do not believe my wife is capable of making these trips. My past record is clean both drivind no dui's wreckless oops and no criminal history.
judge: guilty maximum penalty. Next
Honestly Gary, we all told you to lawyer up. If you had you probably would've walked away with a slap on the wrist. I got caught going pretty quickly too and I have a terrible record. Lawyer got me off with 0 points added to my license. I received probation for 6 months, a $400 fine, a 8 hour driving class, and 25 hours of community service. In march I will pay another $400 to have the misdemeanor expunged from my record and this will all just be a bad dream. Lawyer fee was $775.
The hardest thing for me was completing the community service. My schedule is so packed that I struggled to find time.
