I don't think the thinning hair has anything to do with driving with the top down. I think it has more to do with having 2 ex-wives.

Today marks the end of 183 days with no license. I have served my sentence to the residents of Ohio. It is 7:00 am and I am walking out the door to be first in line at the local DMV which is 3 miles away. I hope I can make it that far without any issues as my spouse is sleeping and I have to be at work at 9:00 so this is my only hope for getting my license back before monday. Who wants to race now. JJ bit I think I will go on a nice long ride this afternoon by myself.

Not the way to preserve a car or bike.Remember to keep the wheels on the ground. Good luck.

I got nailed for 100 in a 55 not too long ago. Illinois had passed a new law making 40 or more over a crime. Max penalty is $2,500 fine and up to a year in jail. I was sweating going to court. I went without a lawyer after doing some research. Due to my clean record, I got it reduced to 31 over and just a $250 fine.

Phew!!

My last stop for a speeding infraction was 93 in a 55mph zone. As I was pulling out my license, I let the trooper see my DAV card. He gave me a warning.

I was quite lucky I guess, got popped going 83 in a 55 hard on the brakes. It had been EXACTLY one year since my last ticket. They let me take the first time offender's traffic safety course, which cost $40 bucks, and they dropped everything pending class attendance: the criminal charge, the fines, and the court costs. I have no idea why they'd consider me a first time offender and according to my state's requirements I wasn't eligible for traffic school. The judge was familiar with the crossfire though, the dialogue went something like this:

Judge: *whistling* Speeeeeding! Would you like traffic school?
Me: Yes sir, I'd appreciate that.
Judge: It says here you have a Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6? Is that right?
Me: Yes sir.
Judge: It has a Mercedes engine in it right, a big one?
Me: No sir, a little one with a supercharger.
Judge: *laughs* Just be careful and don't hurt yourself!

You've really got all the luck. First you get your SRT for a steal, and then a car-enthusiast judge.

That was the cheapest speeding ticket I've gotten, and the most over I've been caught. The ticket before, in my hometown, was nearly $300 for 67 in a 55 with traffic school and court costs. I hope it lasts. I'd say if I can find a sugar mama before racing season starts then my luck will officially be through the roof!

My court hearing went nothing like that.

Judge : can you justify going that fast?
Me: no your honor no one can justify going that fast.
judge: why were you going that fast?
Me: I just made some modifications to my car and I used bad judgment in attempting to see how they were working out on the street. I am not a speeder and I have never had the car that fast before.
Judge: anything else?
Me: yes your honor. My wife is disabled with MS and loosing my license would cause a hardship on the family. I have two young children I must get to school and back everyday and I do not believe my wife is capable of making these trips. My past record is clean both drivind no dui's wreckless oops and no criminal history.
judge: guilty maximum penalty. Next

I would have left out the part about modding the car and not being a speeder, I think that'd be a red flag to a judge. I would say that judge didn't believe a word of it and as far as he's concerned you just lied to him, that's not how you get mercy from the court system. Of course, there's a good chance that you were going to get the maximum allowable punishment anyways. As far as the last part, that's just ruthless... he could have at least pointed you in the right direction for getting a hardship license! But it's not his job, and I don't think that that's his decision to make. Admittedly the judge that I got was pretty awesome, he told us beforehand that he wasn't going to make us plead until after he told us if we were eligible for traffic school or not because there were criminal charges associated with all of us and he didn't believe it was fair. Glad you got your license back!
