a note on install,
I have had repeated success at this holding the alternator shaft with a T50 (torx) bit and then using a 15/16" 6-point socket (welded to a junk wrench) to back the nut off .... UNTIL today ... when I snapped off the T50 (as the torque wrench it was held with passed 120 lb-ft) ... so I had to resort to the impact gun. No penalty for using the gun, it just requires that you unplug the fan connector, remove 2 shroud clips and ease out the fan shroud so you can get the gun in there. As an added precaution, I like to slip a piece of sheet metal (8" square or more will do fine) against the radiator so you don't bonk any fins over with the impact gun.
