Did you like the car before it blew the head gasket? If so, why not just keep it?
Look at it this way, if you took it someplace with 70k miles on it and a "rebuilt title" to trade it in on another Crossfire with only 40k miles, it would probably cost you alot more than $2k.
I don't think the 3.2 V6 engine in the Crossfire, (and probably a million Mercedes Benz cars) has a reputation for blowing head gaskets.
No reason these cars won't do 200 to 300k miles with proper maintenance.
