If you look at the picture in this post (click) you will see the parts that can cause the problem. The problem is called 'limp mode', the transmission stays in second gear only so as not to cause damage to itself.
The part consists of two parts screwed together, the electrical plate and the solenoid plate. Which part was replaced or were both replaced?
