it would surly be interesting but I would not recomend it. As for lightning quick downshifts before the curve and short shifts coming out of the curve my paddle shifter ( thanks Chris padddle shifter, Rudy TCM) works just fine.
The short answer to the OP's drag race question is because it is FUN and the Crossfire does quite well even against todays latest offerings. Sure anyone can line up and do it (point and shoot) but to do it well requires real skill.
