Unhappy Re: Top convertible problem

Hi....New to the site..Love to have some help.....Having trouble with my conv. top not working. It seems to be trying, so I checked the oil res. and found fluid below the min. mark. no evidence of leaking.
couple of questions:

Doesn't look easy to get the oil in the res. without getting it everywhere else??? suggestions??

Chrylsler says it needs right cyl. ram and not one to be found in country....wouldn't they make sure the res. was filled before needing a new cyl??

Also was told I'm out of luck and can't operate it manually??? what?? No help there. So I've been researching and tried to manually operate but am scared to break something. I'm not sure the hydraulic pressure is being released before I attempt a manual override. I did follow all procedures, but like I said am gun shy about really wreckiing something.

From what I've heard.....the hydraulic oil in this system is the same as the power steering system oil???
Is this correct??

I know this is alot....but cant find my exact problem on this site..so I may be flying solo.

Thanks to anyone who could give some insight.
