Just make sure you have released the top at the windshield FIRST, otherwise there is too much pressure on the rear bow latch.

Manual top down for dummies :
1. release the D-ring and push the top up.
2. open trunk, turn the 5mm hex nut to release the window bow. close the trunk.
3. lift the window bow and use slim 10mm wrench or special tool to release tonneau latch.
4. lift the tonneau and hold it up.
5. fold the top GENTLY into the tonneau area.
6. close the tonneau and latch with the 10mm.

Manual top up :
1. lower the windows.
2. release and list tonneau.
3. lift the top and hold the rear bow up.
4. close & latch the tonneau.
5. close & latch the rear bow.
6. close and latch the D-ring.

HINT: If you hold the left front side of the top with your left hand and rotate it down slowly, it won't SLAM, then latch the D-ring.
( do this even when the top is working correctly )

I take it you bought the car with the broken top? Or did it leak fluid and you had the cylinders rebuilt?
I am with Dave on this one. You may have air in the system. I haven't had to work on mine but I would think you need to bleed the air out of the pump. Just my take if all the sensors are fine.

Thanks....I did find the leak...but also a little hydraulic fluid, did the trick... It's been up and down and filled the hydraulic fluid. So, I can no have the top down....and not worry too much.

Also.....another problem just surfaced.. The spoiler will not manually deploy and it was working before. I haven't touched anything related to that area or spoiler.. The dash indicator shows a red light when starting. If the red light lights? Is the fuse still good?? Just wondering. Also, is there a way to reset ??

Thanks to all who have helped.......It's been a good feeliing to be helped so feely.

Since this problem.....I've had company...so I haven't been able to take it out to 62 + mph. , to see if it automatically deploys. Really that's the important part that I would want to work..

Hoping to get to it in a couple days. Alot of family visiting.

Thanks,

Glad you got it working again!
It kind of sounds like the same problem im having with mine. So you added fluid and it worked? Did you have to do anything to the top to get the fluid through out the system? My fluid was at the minimum line so I filled it up but that didn't do anything.
Here is what mine is doing, is this how your was?

There are two cylinders for the top bow, I'd suspect one of them has gone on strike.
Have you looked really good for a leak?

Found out what the problem was! The switch on the bow lock release is having problems. I disconnected the plug and it opporated perfect. The only problem is that it doesn't recognise the bow is locked into place so the trunk will not unlock.

I took off the locking mechanism, and found that a spring was just hanging there. I reattached to where it needed to be and now the top works flawlessly. I wanted to give my update so anyone have the same problem I did so look there during your troubleshooting.

You have to unbolt the locking mechanism and remove it from the lid, you will see a spring on the underside. Its really small so if you have to reattach it, you will need to use really small needle nose pliers. It was easy to fix, luckily that's all that I had to do.
