Not intentional : mine were just like that 2 years ago when I bought it.
Sand, Sand, polish, sand, sand, polish then XPEL UV clear covers and still look new today.
UV exposure causes micro-cracks in the very top layer of the lexan.
The sanding and polishing fixes that, the covers filter out any more UV so it does not reoccur.
