Engine Oil service
Hi all, well I have had this car now for two whole days, and I don't think I've done anything else but clean and read about this car. I have a simple question that I thought I saw in the last couple of days, but I just thought I would ask. I noticed when I bought the car a couple of days ago, they gave it an oil change, but I did notice that the mech. put in 6 quarts of oil. I was watching him, because I really wanted to get the process over. I noticed the amount because as he kept putting more and more oil in, I thought, boy that engine takes a lot. Well I checked it this morning after reading the posts about is it 6 or 8. The dip stick did read, but it was on the low end. I checked the owners manual and it calls for 8.5 qts. Should I go out and buy at least another quart? I know it's MOBILE1, but what is the normal viscosity used? I live in FL. I've owned a Miata and a couple of Z cars, but for some reason this car makes me nervous. Strange. Well anyway, thanks for any info. Bob
