Built 5 AR's from scratch last three months. I like the new cold hammer forged barrels. If you go with the mid length gas system rather than the shorter carbine length, less felt recoil and smoother bolt cycling. Barrels same length for both,16".
Have one with 20" govt profile barrel, fixed A2 stock and receiver mounted A2 style carry handle. Super accurate, real tack driver.
Majority of mine are PSA uppers, CMMG dedicated 22LR with carbine length pencil barrel. Lowers are SOG Armory, Liberty Arms, billet Airizona Armory, CMMG, and an Omni polymer on my 22LR AR.
That is good news to hear. But the Ammo shortage is not. 22LR seemed to be a good idea when it was plentiful. At the moment not so much.
I have a modern Henry 22lr lever action that i love to shoot but, until Ammo supplies are up, I am keeping it in the gun case
My 40 ca Model 94 has the same problem DHS has dried up the supply of that calibre as well.
