HELP. Auto Transmission Fluid overflow
I was driving down the freeway today and gunnned it hard to get around a truck, glanced in my rear view mirror as I passed the truck and noticed I was burning blue smoke out the back. I pulled over righ away and checked the car out. The first thing I noticed was fluid pouring out from up front. Checked under the hood and noticed white/blue smoke from the filler area on the trans. so on closer look noticed no filler cap was in place and the top of the trans was wet with fluid. Looked to me as if the fluid had come from the filler area...?
The car was recently serviced at Spring Chrysler Jeep Dealer in Jan of this year for a leaky transmission bulk head connector leak. They replaced the connector and o-ring to fix it. I know they had to top off fluid at the time so it is possible the cap was never replaced and I didn't notice it....maybe. Question is, but would make the fluid suddenly erupt from the filler? I was inclined to blame the dealership, thinking they used the wrong fluid to top off after the bulkhead leak and plugged things up, sudden back preasure on my spirited accelleration causing fluid to go to the path of least resistance...the filler tube. What do you guys think?
