He thinks that because it cranks for 2 or 3 seconds and then stops and will only do it again when you disconnect and reconnect the battery it won't be the battery. I have instructed him to try disconnecting the battery and charge it up properly. He is after all assuming it wouldn't be the simplest thing, which it could be!
