Needing advice

I wanted to change out the muffler ONLY and went to a Meineke muffler shop to inquire on a magnaflow muffler installed to give the Crossfire a more THROATY SOUND. The shop owner said the Magnaflow muffler installed would be $265.00 and an impoert knock off would be$150.00 Has anyone had either of these installed . Could the knockoff be just as effective? He is going to put back on the tips.
