Needing advice

I wanted to change out the muffler ONLY and went to a Meineke muffler shop to inquire on a magnaflow muffler installed to give the Crossfire a more THROATY SOUND. The shop owner said the Magnaflow muffler installed would be $265.00 and an impoert knock off would be$150.00 Has anyone had either of these installed . Could the knockoff be just as effective? He is going to put back on the tips.

I have a 2 in/2 out Magnaflow that I bought off of Amazon a couple years ago when they had a sale. I think it sounds great, and hopefully someone who has heard it will chime in wether they agree or disagree. Mine is an SRT so much more pressure to sound throaty, although it does get raspy sometimes when cold. You will no doubt get more rasp and drone from a knockoff but your call.

 

Will you get more of a throaty sound from a magnaflow or a knockoff muffler. Magnaflow $265.00
Knockoff $150.00. Do you think the quality ia considerably better using the magnaflow, since they are both stainless steel. I am not looking for a obnoxious loud sound.

I agree the knockoff will have much more drone, but that is simply a guess based on the R+D magnaflow has done to eliminate it.

I had a magnaflow on my last XF and it sounded good!
