Good Trip
Too chicken to take the XF (no spare), took the 13 Escape Titanium, 2.0 L Turbo, 6 spd auto, 4x4. Vehicle weighs 3,800 lbs. 2,900 miles on trip.....computer claimed 26.6 mpg ave. ....my measure was 26.1 mpg. Not bad .....many mountains.....& 80 mph+ on I-70. EPA sticker is 28 highway....but I'm guessing they have pure gas & don't go over 65 mph. With pure gas & a stretch of 2 lane 65 mph highway....it would read 31-32 mpg.
KC to Yellowstone.....over to Devil's Tower.....Denver Botanical Gardens....KC
Hey, I bought an $88 Coleman Cooler that plugs into the 12v outlet or house current.....Escape has a 110 V outlet...+ I would bring it into motel rooms over night.....would be down to about 40F most of the time. First night I had it I brought it into our house with only 6 bottles of Coke in it....woke up next morning & temp inside was 27F.......
Some cars 12 v outlets are powered even if car off......if you left it plugged in all night it might drain your battery.....I always kept it plugged into the Escape's 110 V.....which only works when the engine is running.
