Default Tire Questions

Have a screw in the rear passenger tire right at the edge of the tread and sidewall. The head of the screw sticks out about 1/4 inch and it enters straight down in and slightly toward the center. I took it to a Tire store and they said they could not fix it; I would need a new tire. Would it be possible to patch the tire from the inside? Or are they just trying to sell a tire. I checked Tire Rack on line and they have the Conti Touring Contact 255/35 92/W CW95 for $165. I read in the Tire section of this forum about the sensor and have a picture or diagram that was posted. Can I trust one of the recommended installers to mount it properly and not screw up the sensor? Further, are the balancing weights mounted on the inside of the rim? Also, I paid $185 for an upgrade from standard equipment when the car was new (limited roadster '05) to Conti ASP's according to the window sticker. Did I get the right set of tires that were listed above or did I get the standard tires? The Touring Contacts I have also say EcoPlus on the sidewall? Appreciate any and all feedback, xrtime
