I believe you are correct, but I am in the same boat as you are with the V8 swap. I am keeping my 6 speed come hell or high water, whether it be behind a turbo'd V6 or a NA V8. I just want to be sure I can have something that will run and not sit in the garage because the ECU wont let it run. I don't have the option of running aftermarket as I have to pass an emission test via the OBD port.

If I had an automatic I would have gone reflashed SRT ECU, rewired a little bit and charged it and been done. Tweaking the boost curve would have been easy compared to trying to get one to work with a manual trans.
