It is a known fact, at least to some, that many people who brake hard enough to initiate the ABS system release the pressure of their foot on the brake pedal in response to the vibrations felt when they should be maintaining that pressure.

The rule is keep applying the brake pressure until the situation that caused the emergency braking is over, do not let up on the brake until then.

The brake assist program on these cars will add pressure to the brake fluid when certain parameters are met but will release that pressure if the pedal is released by the operator. The speed of response and pressure applied are what triggers the BAS.

These cars and the systems in them are smarter than us, let's not bring them down to our level.
