Started messing with something cool so I thought I would share.
A few weeks ago I bought the mentioned Eonon G1311 and the company loved my review so much they posted it on their facebook and website. I started doing some research and the Navigation is Windows CE 6.0 based. Also you can set the directory for the gps software in the settings of the head unit. I have found a head unit friendly version of windows CE here:
GpsPasSion Forums - MioPocket 4.0 (Unlock for GPS devices)
With this loaded you can now run any file you want. So not only do a I have a nice fold out monitor for my music/videos I can now run HOBD, which can read OBDII codes and pull stats on the engine in real time, just like Torque Pro for Android. The head unit also came with bluetooth so I don't have to run a cable to the OBDII plug in the foot well.
I'll do more experimenting over the next few days and share what I find. I tried another program called Vista Unlock, but you had to plug in the directories for all the programs before you install it on your head unit. And since you don't know how the head unit will read the storage card as, it makes writing directories a little bit harder. With Miopocket this set up is built into the GUI and makes it a lot easier.
I'm debating starting a new thread since this no longer has anything to do with Android. Just wanted to share my work around that I found and didn't cost me an arm and a leg.
