I recall reading in the manual on air conditioning mode that it made no difference turning the temperature wheels to colder that the system would cool down at the same speed regardless. But does this hold true for the heat?

My Mercedes is equipped with a full-automatic system in that you set the temperature and it maintains that temperature regardless of interior or exterior temperature, and regulates fan speeds too. As the interior reaches the set temperature range, the air will become cooler and warmer depending on variation from the set temp. Will the system in the Crossfire do this also?

It is a manual system. you have to dial heat/cool, and you have to set fan speed. If you had an automatic system, you would have a temperature readout that you set, and the system would maintain that set temperature.
