You DID remove the stock filters from inside the airbox, right? Otherwise you're just getting a small quantity of VERY clean hot air into your engine.
General consensus is that any benefit from a free flowing filter placed under the hood is more than balanced out by the fact that hot air is less dense than cold air & thus has less oxygen...net result of a hot-air filter is most likely a slight loss in performance, not a gain...
Does look nice though.
